FACTS: HAND INJURIES

The hand is one of our most important tools. Unfortunately, hand and finger injuries are common at workplaces and are often caused by sharp objects. Cut protection gloves reduce the injury risk when handling knives, sheet metal, building materials, glass and rigid plastics.

55 180 workplace accidents with hand injuries that lead to absence from work were reported during 2013-2017. Among the 39 different accident categories (for example impact, crush, overloading), contact with sharp objects was the category with most reported accidents – 17 621.

CUT RESISTANCE BETWEEN 5 AND 10 NEWTONS

In this category you will find thin and flexible gloves for tasks that have a lower risk for cut injuries such as personnel who pack, distribute or receive goods in warehouses.

CUT C

CUT RESISTANCE BETWEEN 10 AND 15 NEWTONS

This category represents gloves for tasks with a medium risk for cut injuries such as personnel who handle sharp metals, plastics or similar materials in different industrial environments.

CUT D

CUT RESISTANCE BETWEEN 15 AND 22 NEWTONS

Gloves with Cut level D offer adequate protection when there is a risk for cut injuries when handling glass, metal, tools or machinery with sharp edges.

CUT E

CUT RESISTANCE BETWEEN 22 AND 30 NEWTONS

Cut E offers a high level of protection against cuts in work environments with sharp tools and machinery.
